There are some photos posted of one of the two birds by Renee Grebe at http://talking-dog.com/grebe/downloads/birds/112903_dcHummer.jpg and to our eye it 1) isn't the same bird that Barry and I saw last week (which was definitely the Black-chinned as photographed by Dave Czaplak) and 2) appears to be a Selasphorus, Rufous/Allen's type but I would like a better look myself. Does anyone know if the two Selasphorus are still in NW Washington at Observatory Pl? Could this be one of them (the bird some were calling "Spot" because of its throat spot)? And has anyone definitely seen the Black-chinned since this other bird showed up? And what's next???
