His talk is entitled = OF VULTURES, EAGLES, AND HAWKS: 70 YEARS OF FIELD OBSERVATION AND = WRITINGS FROM HAWK MOUNTAIN. His presentation will include an account = of raptor observation and studies at Hawk Mountain with slides and = discussion of various raptor species. Dr. Keith L. Bildstein is Director of Conservation Science at Hawk = Mountain Sanctuary, PA. He has worked at Hawk Mountain since 1992. His = responsibilities include overseeing Sanctuary science and education, = coordinating the activities of Hawk Mountain interns, graduate students, = and visiting scientists, and managing the Sanctuary's growing databases. = Keith received his Masters and Ph. D. in Zoology from Ohio State = University. His graduate studies focused on the behavioral ecology of = Red-tailed Hawks, Rough-legged Hawks, Northern Harriers, and American = Kestrels wintering in south-central Ohio farmlands. He currently is = Adjunct Professor of Wildlife Biology at the State University of New = York-Syracuse. He has been President of the Wilson Ornithological = Society and the Colonial Waterbird Society, and has served on the boards = of directors of the Raptor Research Foundation and the American = Ornithologists' Union. He currently serves as Vice-president of the = Raptor Research Foundation. He was Editor of the Wilson Bulletin, a = quarterly journal of ornithology, from 1984 through 1987, and a member = of the editorial board of The Auk in 1997-2000. Bildstein has helped = organized the scientific programs of six national and five international = ornithological meetings. Dr. Bildstein is author or coauthor of 85 = papers in ecology and conservation, including 35 on raptors. His books = include White Ibis: Wetland Wanderer (1993, Smithsonian Press); The = Raptor Migration Watch-site Manual 1995 (Hawk Mountain Sanctuary); and = Raptor Watch: A Global Directory of Raptor Migration Sites 2000 = (BirdLife International and Hawk Mountain Sanctuary). He coedited = Hawkwatching in the Americas (2001, Hawk Migration Association of North = America).
