It was working over trees along the river trail on the Anacostia side. Other species of interest I saw from the river trail included FOX SPARROW, GREEN-WINGED TEAL (two males, in the marsh), WOOD DUCK (a group of 5-7 males, on the river), and AMERICAN BLACK DUCK. From the observation deck on the east end of the marsh, I also spotted some RUSTY BLACKBIRDS. Overall the birds were pretty quiet, as one might expect after such a cold night, but there was still a diverse range of species present.
