I installed the software (MiniCalc) with my home-made checklist. I have a Handspring PDA (a Palm clone). The slowness of the PDA makes it much too impractical for field use. I still use pen and paper. Unless you have a very fast PDA (I think they exist), no software is likely to be fast enough. I just began learning the banders' 4-letter codes (long overdue) - it works fine, takes up less space than my previous abbreviations. I have no reason to expect the PDA version will be any less satisfactory than the PC version. ... By the way, responses on the list to requests for information about products (as opposed to birding in far-away places) are much preferable to off-list replies ... ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
