Kestrel--1 Great Black-backed Gull--1 adult on water B. Kingfisher--1 male Fox Sparrow--3 The path along the power lines to the far end of the pond was very birdy--mostly Song and White-throated Sparrows. Earlier sightings at this pond not previously reported: 16 Nov--WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW--1 imm 21 Nov--PEREGRINE FALCON--perched on power stantion; photographed by Brian Sykes 21 Nov--GRAY CATBIRD--THREE of them of which two were near I-895 underpass 4 Dec--N. SHOVELER--seen by Brian Sykes, but not present on 5 or 6 Dec Other sightings elsewhere in SW Baltimore Co.: 26 Nov--PURPLE FINCH--one imm. male at UMBC 27 Nov--COMMON MERGANSER--on a pond at Southwest Area Park 27 Nov--GREAT EGRET--one in pond/marsh on east side of B&A Blvd (Rte 648) at the south side of the Patapsco River (actually barely in Anne Arundel Co.)
