For lists generally there's a wonderful freeware program, one of my favorites used for many types of lists, called HandyShopper. It's only for palm os based devices. I'm now on my 3rd (Vx -> M515 -> TT3) Available for download from palmgear and other places http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&sid=4B5D48F5-69C8-4A2C-966DE04A8092A41C&prodID=1350 I found an already created bird list on a yahoogroup for handyshopper users to share information, i am in the process of modifying this list for my own use as I begin listing. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/handyshopper/files/Hobbies/ For birding, having a list of birds(items), categorized and sorted in any order desired, you can have different locations (stores) which represent the locations you regularly bird, like separate lists, but sharing the same bird list, or with some birds only on one of the 'stores'. A 'date' field can be automatically set to assign todays date or allow you to enter a specific date. So if you're out Also a 'note' can be attached (this you'd have to write though) Ex. my 'neighborhood' and 'MD' stores/lists share their bird list, but my Florida store has items/birds not included in my MD list. If one of these unusuals showed up I could easily add it to be included in the other. Anyway, if other folks not yet ready to move to avisys, still want a way to track their birds using a pda I recommend giving this a try. lee-ann, bowie/glendale MD - looking forward to the day I can have full id info on my pda in the field (pics, visual clues, habitat, songs). I don't think it's far off. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Ellis" To: Sent: Friday, December 05, 2003 7:12 PM Subject: [MDOSPREY] Bird Checklist on a PDA > Sherry: > > I considered using a spreadsheet made for a PDA for my checklist.
