Isn't there a well-documented case of an Allen's spending the winter in a greenhouse in Maine? I have always been a let-nature-take-it's-course advocate, he said, as he spent a good deal of the year trying to rid his little acre of invasive plants that he knows aren't native and shouldn't be here. I think this time we ought to stand back and observe. Might I point out that if somebody wasn't running an all winter feeder, they wouldn't have stayed here in the first place? The next thing we know somebody will not only be suggesting we take them inside, but get somebody to make sure they make it back out west by way of a specially chartered flight. Come on folks. They got here. They can get back.
