What began as a Big January as somehow become a Big Year in Maryland. As of now, I've surpassed my previous personal best and all expectations I set for myself earlier in the year (Matt, bet you could have done better if you hadn't gone to TX, FL, CO, etc). However, I've made it this far, I'd like to continue to put forth my best effort. With the CBCs coming up this weekend, there will be a lot of people out in the field finding birds. There are still numerous possibilities that I could see before the end of the year. If you are out birding in the coming weeks and find a rare bird, I, as well as everyone else on this list, would love to hear about it. Evening Grosbeak, Northern Goshawk, Brewer's Blackbird, and Black-headed Gull are all birds that I have yet to see this year and would appreciate a heads-up on. Also could someone please find another Ash-throated Flycatcher, it was heartbreaking to be there too early and too late in the day. I'll be out in the field most of the days until the end of the year, so hopefully I'll see you out there. Thanks to everyone who has already helped me this year and good luck to everyone for the Christmas Count season.
