Good grief, there's a showoff in every group, isn't there? =20 Actually, it's not a bad idea but to do it in real time puts a lot of pressure on the typist to get things right. =20 I've been putting together a database of all the Christmas Counts in MD and DE (in whole or in part). I have data entered for 33 counts (current counts only, no historical ones) for the 75th through the 103rd CBC. There are 30 counts now considered in MD/DE and I've added data from the DC, Fort Belvoir, and Mount Davis PA counts as well. =20 Now I'm beginning to toy around with queries and reports to print out species-by-year and species-by-5yr averages for individual counts and for counts by region. When I've got something working, more or less, it will make it a lot easier for me to evaluate the overall MD/DE count results for the current year and it might make it easier for the individual count compilers to do so as well. When and if I get the whole package working, I'll make it available at least to the current count compilers and probably to anyone who wants to download it and play with it. I'm using Access XP as the database program so if you have that, keep your eyes open for an announcement. Don't, however, hold your breath--it may take awhile!
