GS BUMED" Subject: Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Monday, 22 Dec 03, 1000-1400, Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, Grasonville, MD, Queen Anne's County - Use or loose leave and balmy weather were the catalysts for this trip. If you plan to visit, note that the signs leading to the CBEC and the sign out front still read Horsehead Wetlands Center. A total of 34 species were observed. Despite the cacophony of shotgun blasts on the bay side of the center, waterfowl were in abundance to include: Canda Goose, Mute Swan, Tundra Swan, American Black Duck, Mallard, Northern Pintail, Lesser Scaup, Bufflehead, Hooded Merganser, Common Merganser, and Ruddy Duck. Other birds of note were a stick-around-for-the-holidays GRAY CATBIRD, a very curious MARSH WREN pished to within 6 feet, and a majestic adult Bald Eagle soaring over of the water along the Marshy Creek Trail.
