There was no Eurasian Wigeon found on Friday afternoon in spite of a = very nice mix of ducks.  However, spotted among the Buffleheads was a = Grebe that did not offer a positive ID but could be another interesting = find.  It offered puzzling clues.  When it extended its head it had a = long neck and lots of white.  It was larger than the Buffleheads, so it = might have been a Red-Necked Grebe.  Another gentleman present also = thought it could have been a Red-Necked Grebe. =20 Also seen,=20 Ring-Necked Duck Redhead Duck American Wigeon Bufflehead Pied Bill Grebe Common Merganser Hooded Merganser Canvassback Mallard Canada Geese Northern Flicker Red-Breasted Nuthatch Downy Woodpecker Turkey Vulture Black Vulture Junco White-throated sparrow Carolina Chickadee 2 or 3 Brown Creepers moving through the pines together on the fire road =20 Denise Ryan Washington, DC ________________________________
