Most common ducks were BUFFLEHEAD, followed by RUDDY DUCK and RING-NECKED DUCK. There were also about a half-dozen CANVASBACK and 3 COMMON GOLDENEYE, a male and two females. Apart from many MALLARD, other puddle ducks seen were a handful of GADWALL and AMERICAN WIGEON. PIED-BILLED GREBES and AMERICAN COOTS were here and there. An adult BALD EAGLE flew over the lake at about 3 p.m. Mike and Joy Bowen Bethesda, MD D. H.
