I attached the perches on this one; hopefully the hum will get the hint and "set a spell." I could hear the Rufous as soon as I approached the area; she was doing a lot of chittering. I searched hopefully, but in vain, for any additional hum visitors. Does anyone know any additional details about the Selasphorus hummingbird that's been sited at the National Arboretum? I saw the report in this week's Voice. BTW, the 'Midwinter Fire' dogwoods (planted against the blank wall around the Hirshorn, facing Independence Ave.) are in their glory this time of year: look for them when the sun hits them for a visual treat.
