Goldeneye in HowCo This morning, January 1, the Tresses of Baltimore County found a pair of Northern Pintails at Howard County's Centennial Park. The birds were at the west end of the lake, the wildlife habitat area. I saw the pair about 2:30 p.m. I came in from Centennial Rd., and missed them on the way in, but they appeared as I returned to my car. So the birds are very active and moving around. I saw them from the south shore, at the second island in from Centennial Rd. A Common Goldeneye was seen by the official Howard County Bird Club New Years trip shortly after 8 a.m. off the Concession Stand at Centennial. The bird was a male, the first male adult male I've ever seen at Centennial.
