If no-one else has posted Brown-headed Cowbird, I had a few females and m= ales at the =20 birdseed yesterday (January 1) in Glenn Dale.  All other yard birds have = been posted by =20 others.

The Composite List of Bird Sightings compiled from the records of all MD birders is off to a great start.  After one day of heavy birding we have tallied up 117 species....28.1% of the State List.  Check it out and let me know if you have seen any others. Also, please remember to give the locale and the county when you report your sightings.  We will use generic locales where necessary to protect the species or private property.  The January 1 Team: A Ripley, S Hamilton, J Shenot, M Balestri, F/N Saunders, M Todd/D Czaplak, E Kirschbaum, D Poet and J Shaffer.
