Debbie Terry, Paul Noel, and I were, however, rewarded with a sighting of an adult female Long-tailed Duck, first spotted by Debbie. The bird was seen from the peninsula off of Loch Raven Drive near the #1 bridge. It was about midway to the shore directly across from the peninsula The complete species list was as follows: Pied-billed Grebe Great Blue Heron Black Vulture Turkey Vulture Canada Goose American Wigeon Mallard Redhead Ring-necked Duck Long-tailed Duck Bufflehead Hooded Merganser Common Merganser Bald Eagle Ring-billed Gull Belted Kingfisher Red-bellied Woodpecker Yellow-bellied Sapsucker Downy Woodpecker Hairy Woodpecker Northern Flicker Blue Jay American Crow Carolina Chickadee Tufted Titmouse White-breasted Nuthatch Carolina Wren Winter Wren Northern Mockingbird Yellow-rumped Warbler Chipping Sparrow Field Sparrow Song Sparrow White-throated Sparrow Dark-eyed Junco Northern Cardinal Elliot Kirschbaum Baltimore, MD USA ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
