For the record, the bird was first spotted on January 3 at 4:20 P.M. in Whetstone Lake. It was definately a Greater White-fronted because it was mingled with the hundreds of Canadas, did not have the dark head or pot belly, had very pronounced stripes on it stomach, and the tail was very black with the white tip. Also it had the very orange bill. I was also asked to give directions to Whestone. I don't know where ya'll are, so here are some general directions. Off of 270, turn on Montgomery Village Avenue, Gaithersburg and the lake shouldn't be too far off. Parking is near houses that are right by the lake(there will be canoes there). There is a pavilion near parking, so walk to the right of that. Both times it was sighted there. You may have some walking to do. Walk all around the lake if you can. Took two hours for me to find it last time I went. Really hard to find. And I also saw those Ring-necks while I was there on the 4th. Good luck to you all! -Gema ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
