The part of the lake accessed from Ten Mile Creek Road was already frozen. A new bridge is being constructed over the creek for those that don't wade through the creek. I saw the following from the parking area next to the bridge: One police person catching three speeders -- so be careful Canvasback - 10 Goldeneye - 6 Black Duck - 10 Mallard - 10 Wigeon - 2 Gadwall - 6 Hooded Merganser - 6 Common Merganser - 10 Ring-necked Duck - 20 Ruddy Duck - 30 Bufflehead - 25 Coot - 30 Bald Eagle - 1 Today (1/9) I walked up the C & O Canal Towpath from Seneca to just beyond mile post 24. In the area around mile post 24, I saw 4 (3 adult & one immature) RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS, 2 Y-B SAPSUCKERS, one BROWN CREEPER and about 5 FLICKERS. There were no ducks on the river.
