The source of the information had been John Kaestner of Trappe (younger brother of Hank Kaestner of Baltimore). John claims to have relatively little interest in birding and is not affiliated with our Talbot County Chapter of MOS, but the Pelicans were sufficiently unusual that he could not help but notice them. John said he saw the five White Pelicans fly over Route 50 near Easton on October 9th. That was the same day as the reported sighting by Mr Stielke. I have spoken with Mr Stielke about sending in a report of his sighting, and he chooses not to do so. I have forwarded a copy of your request to Jim Morrin, but he spends lots of time in Pennsylvania with a relative, so may not get the message very soon. Jim seems to be the best hope for a first person report from someone who saw the birds in Talbot County.
