Most of the ducks were on the Washington Channel, with the exception of the mergansers, which were in the Tidal Basin. Both the scaup and the goldeneye were females, as were the mergansers. Pied-billed Grebe Double-crested Cormorant Great Blue Heron Canada Goose Mallard Scaup sp. Common Goldeneye Bufflehead Common Merganser American Coot Ring-billed Gull Great Black-backed Gull American Herring Gull Rock Dove American Robin European Starling I also stopped at Ripley Gardens, but did not catch sight of the hummer.
