It was there only briefly, and I = was unable to locate it anytime during the rest of the day. I began to = wonder whether my eyes had played tricks on me. =09 This morning (15 Jan) I made it a point to be up early to watch for the bird and I was not disappointed. Around 7:30 a.m. there were two = PINE SISKINS here. One stayed in a bush while the other held its ground in = the midst of the 23 Goldfinches that were feasting at my thistle seed = feeders. =20 Though there was only a very light dusting of snow down here, the temperatures are now dropping, and the birds are anxiously stuffing themselves as they prepare for a cold night.
