Another large group was just below the breaks at Violettes Lock. While these ducks are to be expected, the odd thing is that fully 80% and maybe as many as 90% of the birds were males. I have heard that Canvasbacks have a disproportionate number of drakes, but not Ring-necks. Anyone will similar experience or explanation?
