Goldeneyes in HowCo Yesterday, January 15, a male and female Common Goldeneye were seen below the dam at Lake Elkhorn, in Columbia. Today, at 3:00 p.m., three were present below the dam, a male and two female-plumaged birds. A Ring-necked Duck (male) was also there. By the dock were 14 Ring-necks, several dozen Canada Geese, 1 Coot, uncounted Mallards, 1-2 domestic white geese of some sort, the resident Trumpling and Mute Swans, and that wierd hybrid from earlier in the week. There is another patch of open water further out from the dock that had 2 Ring-necks, and several dozen Ring-billed Gulls.
