I yelled "FREE FOOD!" but apparently it had an appointment elsewhere as it kept going. That's 42 or maybe 43 or something species observed from my ongoing desktop "big sit." Since many of these were one-time occurances, observed by pure luck for mere seconds, I wonder how many have passed by without my knowing, not to mention the nondescript warblers I haven't ID'd. Would be great to have a high quality, wide angle webcam on the same area that I can see - oops - excuse me - Whitethroat headed this way. Busy place today - WT didn't stay long but their rare visits area always worth a pause. Anyway - I wonder if this has been done, i.e. monitor an area with a video cam or something of the sort as a way to get a long-term count of species. Seems like it would enable all sorts of analysis. Glad my downstairs neighbor doesn't mind the seed hulls dropping from my balcony... fdp -------------------------------------------------------------------- Fred Pierce (DNRC)- fpierce@avialantic.com Mid-Atlantic Aviation on the Web - http://www.avialantic.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
