As consolation prize though I did get a nice female MERLIN perched in a tree along a gravel road by the ACE Tree Nursery. She was between the nursery and a farm field, looking very wet and cold, but by the size I determined it to be a female. Very large. When I first saw it from the road I thought it was a Red-tailed Hawk, and almost dismissed it, then decided to get out my scope.Lucky for me. I will look for the owls again this afternoon...
