Near the house with the many feeders by the bridge at the back of the lake was a CHIPPING SPARROW and a GRAY CATBIRD, while the trees around the pool below the dam held an active RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, displaying his red crown patch several times. Also of interest were a WINTER WREN, a YELLOW-BELLED SAPSUCKER, and a single male E. BLUEBIRD, which I was delighted to see following the relative scarcity of these birds last year. Among the waterbirds were 5 COMMON GOLDENEYEs (one drake and four female-plumaged; two below the dam and three in open water in middle of lake), 29 RING-NECKED DUCKs (25 drakes and 4 hens), and a single female HOODED MERGANSER along with an Am. Coot, a Mute Swan, a Trumpling, Canada Geese and beaucoups de Mallards.
