Date: Sat, 24 Jan 2004 13:52:27 -0500 Reply-To: Maryland Birds & Birding Sender: Maryland Birds & Birding From: sean mccandless Subject: White-fronted Goose in Cecil Co.plus MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I was in Elkton birding Howard's Pond today and I was scanning thru all = the Canada Geese, with thoughts of previous conversation on the Osprey = about Cackling Geese, and saw a Canada that had almost no face pattern = at all.Then another flock came in for a landing, they landed right in = front of me and I picked up the orange legs before I even put the scope = on it. That was a nice surprise. Also on another note The Cecil County Landfill, was packed with Gulls. I = scanned for a while but only found 7 Lesser Black-Backed Gulls, There = were tornados of gulls. It was very active! I really want White-winged = Gulls but beggars can't be choosers. I would say there were about 3000 = to 4000 gulls there. It might be worth it to come up and go thru these = gulls. It's nice because you can look down on them rather than across at = them. Happy Birding.
