I think I only had 15 species in 1.5 hours!!! I still managed to locate my first Towhee of the year. I also found the Red-headed Woodpecker at its usual spot on here on post. The coolest thing I found to day was a single branch on a tree along the Gunpowder River that hosted 25 Eastern Bluebirds. The birds were strikingly blue against the snowy back drop. The birds were also VERY tightly packed in together. I bet the whole strand of 25 birds nesstled together took up only 30 inches of the branch. It was the neatest thing! Where's the camera when you need it! Off Topic: Since I mentioned the snow, yesterday in Kent County, Delaware I visited Cartanza Road (off Del. 9). Here I found at least 300 Snow Buntings scattered about a tundra-like corn field. There were also equal numbers of Horned Larks. A Lapland Laongspur has been reported there but I was too cold to really look for it. If anyone wants directions email me off line.
