We saw only some of = the forward part of the flock before driving beyond where they were. They = seemed to be coming down from the north, then veering to the east. A truly enormous number of birds! From our view, the flock appeared to extend = from ground level to a great height in the air, and was also so dense that it resembled a cloud of smoke. Not necessarily the same cloud of birds as = seen by Norm and Fran, of course, (but I rather suspect it was).
