For the birds to get a quick restocking of energy after the = cold wet night, please clean the ice off of the feeders. Particularly = thistle feeders. One of my sock feeders was completely coated on one = side. The tube thistle feeder can be cleared with a pointed knife. = Most of the sunflower seed feeders were fine. Some, like the squirrel = proof feeder, had a coating of ice over the opening. This can be easily = removed by moving the knife back and forth at the seed opening. =20 Keep the water available and clean also. =20 The large flock of Rusty's are still around. A male Sapsucker, Song = Sparrow and two Eastern Towhee males were a treat yesterday with the = usual gang and numbers previously reported birds. I only heard one = Hermit Thrush but did not see it come in to feed. Enjoy your birds.
