An additional caveat/clarification about reporting Eastern Screech-Owls: screech-owls are not in safe dates until the first of April. Of course if you see an obvious pair, have spontaneous territorial calling between birds, or any other definite breeding evidence you don't need to concern yourself with safe dates. However, lone roosting screech-owls and birds induced to call with tape recordings do not "count" as atlas birds until after 1 April.
