I first spotted a striped bird feeding on the ground with the other goldfinches. It was back to me and my first thought was siskin, but when it turned its head it became something much better. The bird visited with the mass of goldfinches 3 times between 7:20 and 8:10 AM. If anyone wishes to come by and look for this bird, they are more than welcome to do so. Email me off list for directions. Also made a quick check of local fields around home, but managed only a half dozen Horned Larks and nothing better.
