The bird was working the base of a tree only 5 or 6 feet from me. Paid me no attention at all. Had a quick glimpse of one on the Clary's Forest pathway last Monday morning. It's always a pleasure encountering those birds. fdp -------------------------------------------------------------------- Fred Pierce (DNRC)- fpierce@avialantic.com Mid-Atlantic Aviation on the Web - http://www.avialantic.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- > -----Original Message----- > From: Maryland Birds & Birding [mailto:MDOSPREY@HOME.EASE.LSOFT.COM]On > Behalf Of Marcus James > Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2004 8:31 PM > To: MDOSPREY@HOME.EASE.LSOFT.COM > Subject: [MDOSPREY] My fourth Pileated Woodpecker > > > Hello > I was just walking to walk this morning, that I saw a Pileated > Woodpecker as I was just about to walk across the pedistrian bridge > going over Rt. 29. in Columbia.
