They caught my attention by being present 'alone' from anything like flocks of = Red-wings or Starlings. They were near the top of a tree beside the part of the pond path that is opposite from the Administration Building. In the 2-3 = minutes that I watched, they did not seem to be feeding. When they flew away, = they crossed the pond and disappeared. The prior day, I also had seen Brewer's Blackbirds up in Caroline County. Those included one female, two males, and possibly more. These were with a small mixed flock that included Red-wings and Common = Grackles. I had a quite good view of these as they fed on the ground out in the = middle of a snow covered field. The field may have been in corn last season, = for some kind of food source was protruding through the snow. My most recent prior sightings of Brewer's Blackbirds had been in Oregon in 1989, where they were abundant.
