Among other sightings were 3 Red-necked Grebe (Jim has had up to 9 at one time this year), 2 Horned Grebe, two Redhead among the many Canvasback, and 1 female Common Goldeneye. The Park Service had closed the walk next to the Seawall because of icy conditions, and has done so often this year. We were able to get around in Jim's SUV, but individual birders are likely to be unable to access the sidewalk. Jim is going to lead an 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning walk at the Fort on February 21, weather permitting.
