Tired of looking for the Waxwing for the past couple of days, = Parke John and I decided to head down to the Shore. That was a great = choice. When we pulled up to the sea wall at the inlet, sitting 15 feet = away on the railing was a adult Iceland Gull. Wow what a bird! Parke = went up to it and did get some great photo's. I had Rock Pidgins landing = on me and he was 3 feet from a white-winged gull. What can I say. I like = to feed the birds. Other birds that brought up my year list . 1- Red-Necked Grebe, 9 Common = Eiders, 3 King Eiders,1 Long-tailed Duck, and a Brown Pelican sitting on = the rock jetty across the inlet. This was a young bird. Like the one I = had back in Dec. at Indian River Inlet. There were good numbers of all 3 Scoters, Horned Grebes, 2 or 3 Great = Cormorants. The only Sandpipers all morning were Purples.30+. I did have = a Ruddy Turnstone at the end of the day. Hoopers Restaurant flats had only 1 Black-bellied Plover but about 30 = American Oystercatchers. There was about 100 or so Brant. Year list is up to 128. Not to bad. Happy Birding.
