We have one report of seeing it heading toward the Chalk Point power plant in southern Prince George's County on the Potomac River in the evening, heading north from the Benedict Bridge. The bird has been seen arriving at and leaving from Sandgates in several directions, so it's not presenting any clear pattern that we can track. As everyone checks gull flocks for the remainder of this winter, please keep your eyes open it, especially early in the morning and towards evening. Look carefully at all Great Black-backed Gulls for something that may look different. Saint Mary's, Calvert, and Charles counties are probably the best bets for finding it, but .. who knows? I'll buy whoever first finds it, away from Sandgates, a beer, a soda, or "top-shelf" bottled water ... your choice! What the heck, I'll really splurge ... and make it a six-pack! Thanks.
