Thought it might = be of interest in the wake of the MD Bohemian Waxwing sighting. -RBA *New Hampshire *February 13, 2004 This is the Audubon Society of New Hampshire's Rare Bird Alert for Friday, = February 13, 2004.=20 Unprecedented in recent times has been the large invasion of BOHEMIAN = WAXWINGS that continue to be reported from around the state, including = many large flocks. All of these birds are being seen visiting fruit trees, = and often in the company of other fruit-eating birds such as Cedar = Waxwings, and American Robins. They often feed persistently at one = location until all the fruit is gone, and then move on to the next nearest = fruit trees, so if you visit a specific location to see these birds and = they aren't there, be sure to check for any other fruit trees in the = surrounding area. Sightings during the past week include: 200 in Conway; = 50 in North Conway; 100 in Laconia; 25 in Lyme; 180 in Peterborough; 400 = in Hanover; 70 in Plymouth; 22 in Newbury; 32 in Rochester; 240 in = Hillsboro; 190 in Durham; and 60 in New London. Thanks very much and good birding.
