Several years ago, while practicing bird id using slides, I put up a rock pigeon (then rock dove), and called on a surfer who enjoyed several recreational substances. I asked him what the bird was. He committed quite a Freudian slip when he replied, "Uh . . . stoned dove?" Kevin Dodge Bittinger, Garrett County, MD kdodge@garrettcollege.edu Have you heard any great quotes about birding that you'd like to share here? I overheard the following uttered by a trip leader Fran and I ran into a few weeks back who shall remain nameless: "The bird was well described but not seen." If you can come up with any zingers like this one, please share them!
