The first was about an indignant tour participant who got really angry at Charley for always talking about "boiling" the chickadees (Boreal Chickadees, Charlie presumed). The second was about a course in warblers Charlie presented to an Elderhostel group. Half the birders wanted to sleep late, go out and bird for an hour or two, then repair to an elegant luncheon with naps in the afternoon. The other half wanted to get out the door at 4 am and spend the whole day moving from one birding hotspot to another. No matter what Charlie did, no one was pleased, and by the time the workshop was over these kindly older folks were being refered to as the "Hostile Elders."
