The first one joined another Mature Bald Eagle which was perched on a high snag on the South shore of the creek. The first of the flying Eagles landed on the snag. Then, the second flying Eagle tried to land on the snag causing more vocalization by eagles in the next 10 minutes than I have heard in a lifetime of birding around the Bay. The third bird then landed on the snag so that all three bird were close enough to touch. After a couple of fly arounds, the three ended up on the snag for another few minutes with frequent calls. This is the only time I have ever seen three Adult Bald eagles sitting this close to one another. Then, after about ten minutes, one of the birds few back across Worton Creek in the direction of The Andelot Farms shore (Where there is a known active nest). The other two remained close together on the snag where mating occurred. Witnessing this is another first for me. Now I am wondering if I was fortunate to be Watching the ornithological version of Peyton Place! ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
