Guris" Subject: April 3 Lewes, DE Pelagic MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit See Life Paulagics is running a pelagic out of Lewes, DE on Saturday, April 3. This is a time of year that is poorly documented. One goal of the trip is to look for Great Skua. This is the time of year when large schools of Herring and Mackerel, along with attendant Gannets, are moving north. Perhaps Great Skua comes north with this bounty of food? We hope to try this theory out. Other targets of the trip are lingering alcids such Razorbill, Puffin, Dovekie, and murres, Fulmar, Greater Shearwater, Gannets, Kittiwakes, winter gulls, whales, and dolphins. Time will be spent in both DE and MD waters. Here are the details. Time: 6:00 AM - about 5:00 PM Cost: $100 Boat: 85' Thelma Dale IV The two trips we ran this winter out of New Jersey saw Razorbill (both trips), Common Murre (both trips), Puffin (1 trip), and Dovekie (1 trip). This seems to be a decent alcid year so hopefully we'll find lingering birds. At this time, they may even be in breeding plumage.
