We started at the former site of Sisters which was a small seasonal convenience/fishing store just north of the entrance to Point Lookout State Park. The only thing left now are one or two small outbuildings and a small parking area which used to be the driveway for the store. At about 6:10 we heard the first "peent" and by 6:15 we had American Woodcock flying and displaying over our heads in several directions and they were quite noisy with the "kissing" sound of the wing beats very evident. We continued north about 1/4 mile to the stop sign at Rt 5 and Scotland Beach Rd. We parked in a small blacktopped pull off area at the planned site of the Confederate Memorial where we saw and heard several more birds displaying. All in all we saw at least 8 birds and heard many more, this was certainly a very good 45 minute stop. For Pat and her son Chris it was a life bird and it sure was nice to see the beginners enthusiasm. --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by tqci.net] ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
