There were lots of = birds that I considered possible, but the bill never seemed to fit the = previous descriptions enough to satisfy me that I found it. Numbers of = birds were lower than yesterday. Virtually no birds on the field near = the FDR Memorial where we had thousands yesterday. No large = accumulations of gulls anywhere on Hains Point except a scattered few in = the Washington Channel. =20 So, back to the Tidal Basin and the boat dock across from the Jefferson = Memorial to look for the gulls again. No luck there, and all the ice = that Rob Ringler and I encountered in the smaller open water area near = the bridge was completely gone. There are still lots of dead fish = around, so it is easy feasting for the gulls and for the curious = Mallards. =20 Scoping around the Tidal Basin from near the Jefferson Memorial I saw a = large nearly while gull far off in the distance, but it seemed like the = Glaucous again. Just as I was ready to confirm it drifted out of my = line of sight. Walking back over to the FDR Memorial entrance area gave = me a very good view of the Glaucous again. Sitting on the water in the = afternoon sun it stood out like a sore white thumb to my eyes. It is = bigger than a Herring Gull with white to very very pale gray wings, = white primary feathers and a dirty white/eggshell head. The bill is = pink with about a 1/3 black at the tip. =20 Denise Ryan Washington, DC =20 =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D =========================================================================
