This is the time of year that the Bald Eagles are pairing up and reconfirming pair bonds for nesting. If you are lucky you may see pairs chasing after each other then locking talons in air and dropping toward the ground. Occasionally they don't let go soon enough and they crash to the ground. I have seen several pairs hanging out together and exhibiting this behavior in the past few weeks. A few pairs were observed by nests. It won't be long before they start laying eggs. I have seen pairs of Red-shouldered and Red-tailed Hawks sitting next to each other actually touching each other as they perched in the last week. Raptors Rule!
