Co. 2/24 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Having struck out Sunday during a brief visit to Lily Pons, I went back this morning and found very few geese there. But I located some 225 Canada Geese with a single Greater White-fronted Goose on the west side of Rt 85 about 1/2 mile south of Adamstown Road. I could not find the second bird reported twice before, but there may have been more geese on lower ground beyond the crest of the rise where most of the birds were grazing. This was #260 for Frederick County - after 54 years of birding there. Later I came across some 2000 Canada Geese in a field with a farm pond on the west side of New Design Road about 3/4 mile north of Rt 28. A quick scan failed to turn up any other species of goose.
