She doesn't like the weight of full size bins. I use them occasionally, also. While they are not quite as bright in low light conditions as 40-42mm bins, they are more than satisfactory. I'm a field of view freak, and the Swarovskis have a very good field for 8x, even with my eyeglasses. I've heard very good things about the Nikon LX series.
