They've been here all winter and I see as many as seven each day. I'm assuming they were here through the three weeks we were in India (23 Jan- Feb 13). As luck would have it, the feeder birds all dispersed prior to Danny and Barbara's arrival and we started looking through the many tree branches for the PUFI. It was then that Danny spotted the Common Redpoll! I saw it long enough to verify it as a redpoll but it flew off and thus far has not reappeared. I'll be watching the feeders carefully this week. An Eastern Bluebird pair has arrived at the window feeder, the male singing loudly all this past week. A check of the garage shelf revealed that the Carolina Wrens have already deposited a few leaves in the little berry basket that they use each year for a nest. Ah, Spring!
