Yesterday I caught a pair of Mallards in the "act". I also had two distinct pairs of Canada Geese scouting out nesting sights around the perimeter of Shelter Cove, off the North East River. Just when I was feeling warm with thoughts of daffodils eight female Common Mergs swam in reminding me that it was still February!!! Also today at work I witnessed a pair of Mourning Doves courting pretty heavily... Happy Leap Day -it's been eight years since we've had a February 29th! Good Birding, Chris Starling PS: As I write this here at work the movie "Bridge over the River Kwai" is on. It is funny listening to all the North American birds in the Burmese jungle... Also Alec Guinness is so cool, but his name makes me thirsty! ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
