GS BUMED" Subject: National Arboretum, 4 Mar 04 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" I followed Warren Strobel's lead from yesterday and stopped by the Asian Collection at the National Arboretum around 2PM to try for the Red-breasted Nuthatch, a life bird for me also. No such luck today. As I passed through the pagoda in the garden, an Am. Woodcock and I were simultaneously surprised as it flushed from the hillside facing the Anacostia River. Other than the woodcock, a few Blue Jays and some White-throated Sparrows, there was not much else in the way of avian activity.
